Mission: To actively engage/empower students at Sunset View to become involved in their community by volunteering, while recognizing their power as individuals, their own gifts, and good fortunes, while also enriching the lives of those who receive the benefits of the group's efforts. We hope our efforts will make others want to "pay it forward" to make the world a better place. Emphasis will be put on the enriching rewards received as a result of helping others, and learning how one good deed can make a REAL impact in someone else's life. Leigh Wick is the PTO person in charge of this program.
Process: Each month students will have three volunteer opportunities, with at least one activity that benefits the Sunset View community. The program will focus on six core service areas: Senior Citizens, Food and Shelter, Health and Disabilities, Environment, Animals and Leadership and Education.
