Library Material Circulation
Welcome to the Sunset View Library Media Center. The following information is to make you aware of our circulation policy.The Sunset View Library Media Center is open daily from 8:25 – 3:15. All books and magazines are on a two-week check out. If students are not finished with the book they are reading, they may come and renew at any time with teacher permission. Students will check out during Library class period, but do not have to wait until the next class period to return the book. Kindergarten children are allowed only one book at a time from the “Everybody” or “Non-Fiction Everybody” sections. First through fifth graders are permitted a maximum of two items this year. This may be a combination of books from any of the areas in the library. We encourage first graders to find books in the “Everybody” and “Non-Fiction Everybody” sections. Second graders may check out from any of the library sections, but we encourage them to take one from the “Everybody” section. This practice began because many second graders are capable of reading more difficult material and desire to have more expanded choices.
I hope with our help and parental guidance, your child will love to visit the library and make appropriate choices which will foster excitement and growth in reading throughout a lifetime. Colleen Malley
