Sunset View
Library Media Center
Meet Mrs. Malley and Mrs. Hoyt
My Philosophy
I believe that the Library Media Center should be the hub of the school and I am committed to encouraging students to become life-long learners. I will ask of all of those that enter the media center to bring in their best selves. Rules and procedures are in place to maximize learning and any behaviors that are not conducive to learning will be dealt with according to the consequences taught the first week of school. Family and community involvement are not only welcomed, but necessary, as we are all partners in the education of our children. Please remember to read 20 minutes nightly with your child. Research has shown that reading aloud is the single most important factor to help children become proficient, avid readers.

Sunset View
Library Media Specialist
Hello! I'd like to welcome you all to the Library Media Center at Sunset View Elementary. I have been teaching at Sunset View Elementary for 18 of my 28 years of teaching. I'm excited to begin my third year as the Teacher Librarian. I was busy this summer taking 4 courses towards my Library Media Endorsement. I'm finally a
full-fledged Teacher Librarian. I have always loved reading and truly believe that reading is the foundation to succes, both in school and in life. Come visit me in the library this year.
Mrs. Hoyt is our secretary in the Library Media Center. She has been a library secretary in the Kennewick School District for 15 years. She previously worked as Ridgeview's library secretary and is excited to be back at Sunset View where her children attended school and she worked as a Para years ago. Mrs. Hoyt is very knowledgeable about books and libraries. Her second set of hands, eyes and mind are a welcome addition to Sunset View Elementary.
