Preamble To The Constitution
We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America.

What is Constitution Day?

On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by thirty-nine brave men who changed the course of history. Now Constitution Day is a time for us to continue their legacy and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.  Our Constitution is 220 years old this year.  During the week of Constitution Day
we heard the Preamble to the Constitution recited
by Mrs. Malley, discussed what it meant and rewrote the Preamble in words that children understand.  Please read the following finished products written by our 3rd - 5th graders.
