NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on or around Dr. Seuss's birthday. During the week of March 2-6, Sunset View students participated in the National “Read Across America” program.  Children read at home throughout the week. For every 20 minute period read, students were asked to bring back a strip of red or white paper with their name written on the strip.  The strips helped create "The Cat in the Hat's" hat in the library.  Come by and check out one weeks worth of reading at home.

WAY COOL!

The library also sponsored a poetry writing contest in honor of Dr. Seuss.  Students were asked to write rhyming poems with at least four lines.  Check the poems out in the following links!
