Barbara Joosse
Visits Sunset View
back
Barbara Joosse, author of many wonderful children's stories, visited Sunset View on Friday, October 24, 2008.  During the previous two weeks students purchased her books and waited patiently for her to autograph them when she arrived.  The book sales went through the roof, in fact, we had to order 50 more books that were sold out during the week of her visit. These will be delivered as soon as they arrive.

Students were amazed to learn that she writes her stories up to five hundred times before they become published books.  That's up to seven years!  (And some of us whine when we have to do a second and third draft.)  Barbara told us that Wind Wild Dog was her favorite story and she also shared two other books that are yet to be published.   She inspired many of our students to continue to dream!

During each assembly a student was chosen to be the "chooser" for the group story.  Both students chose one of her unpublished stories to share.

Thank you PTO for allowing us to have this awesome experience.
