Litter Pick-up on School Grounds before WINTER!
Saturday, October 11, 2008–8:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.
NEEDS FROM HOME: Please bring your own garbage bags to pick up litter. We would also invite you to bring brooms, or blowers to get rid of cobwebs! Anything that a family brings to help would be greatly appreciated!
GOAL: To have students at Sunset View and their families work together as a team with other SSV families to make our school look as nice as possible, and to look at our accomplishment at the end of the task with a sense of pride.
October 2008 – Project #1
ALLERGEN HAND-WIPE DRIVE
This project invites all students to donate a container (or as many as you choose) of hand or baby wipes to help the students with allergies keep their classrooms safe. There will be a collection box in the lobby of the school (across from Mrs. Fish’s desk). We will keep the school updated with collection amounts as these items are donated at the end of October.
October 2008 – Project #2
Making Cards for Patients in Local Hospitals
Make the cards at home and bring as many as you want to the school for delivery to the hospitals at the end of October. We will have a collection box outside of Mrs. Rodman’s office. Be as creative as possible, and make them colorful, beautiful, and expressive. Please remember to sign only your FIRST name. You may also give the grade that you are in at Sunset View Elementary School.

Writing Letters to our Troops to honor Veterans' Day
KID VOLUNTEER PROGRAM – PROJECT #3 – November 15, 2008
Where: Hillcrest Memorial Center – 9353 W. Clearwater Ave.
When: 2pm-4pm – Saturday, November 15, 2008
Why: Putting together Care Packages for the TROOPS
Who: Students, Parents, Teachers – Everyone Welcome!
Parents please stay with your students. We will be sorting candy and other care package items in the community room to be sent overseas by U.S. Troop Care Package Organization.
